playing the game

ReplyWare lets you play a Jeopardy style game using a board of 5 categories with 5 slides in each. Typically, teams take turns answering questions. But, rather than giving points to only the current team, ReplyWare allows all teams to answer and score points. This methodology gives every team a chance to catch up: And win!

Your Presentation

To play the game, an audience response session is created as it normally would. However, 25 slides are created to fill the Jeopardy-style game board. That is, five categories with five slides per category. Category names head each of the five columns (just like on TV); i.e., Company History, The Competition, Acronyms, etc. Values of 100, 200, 300, 400, and 500 points consecutively. And, if you are really wanting to motivate and excite your audience, we’ll add $ Dollar Signs to each value.

Setting Up The Game

Animated Transitions between each question produce a visually stimulating and entertaining element to your presentation.

The game show emcee chooses a category and point value. The category color will change, and your category music will start playing.

The question value will fill the screen and then go directly to the question.

  1. At any time the Team Standings may be displayed.
  2. You can even have a tie-breaker question!
  3. You can add another dimension to the game by creating a Game Board background that depicts some sort of message (e.g. “Quality is Number 1”). Then have a bonus question that asks, “What is the message that the Game Board revealed?”

Let’s Have Fun!

To have a team competition, you will need to know the number of teams (no more than 10), any team names you’d like to use, and the number of keypads on each team. We’ll apply team color identification to each keypad and when the TEAM SCORES are displayed, the bars in the graph will be the same as the colors on the keypads.

If you would like to have a special name for your game, we’ll be happy to create a slide to incorporate it into the overall presentation.

In summary, here is how the flow would go...

The presenter or game show emcee will explain to the audience that the meeting is going interactive. This would be a good time to ask a sample question; i.e.,

When was the last official Elvis sighting?

  1. Working at a Kalamazoo Burger King
  2. Singing backup for Michael Jackson
  3. Directing a remake of Jailhouse rock starring Nicolas Cage
  4. About six feet under at Graceland

At this point the 10 second countdown clock will appear while Elvis music is playing. When the clock reaches ZERO, the answer graph is displayed with the correct (number 4 is the correct answer for this question) answer bar flashing off and on.

For the purpose of this sample question, the team scores will now be displayed with a special sound effect for emphasis.

OK, it’s time to start the game and every question counts toward each team’s score. GOOD LUCK!

Also, the TOP 5 keypad’s CUMULATIVE score may be displayed at any time.

We recommend that the Jeopardy-type countdown music be used along with a 30 second time for the final question. Also, this question should have a point value of maybe 1000 points. This will give all teams a last chance to win the game.

The final question should be one that emphasizes the purpose of the day’s meeting and a message you want the audience to retain.
